Claude Monet Art Workshop For Kids #artforlittleeyes
“To teach is to learn twice over.” – Joseph Joubert –At our recent art workshop for kids, we painted Claude Monet’s Water lilies. I always begin by telling the children a few facts about the artist we are learning about and their painting style.
My teaching approach varies depending on the painting we are recreating. However, it basically comes down to simplifying the shapes to be understood through a child’s eyes.Once we have the painting composition (layout) drawn, we begin by adding the background color(s).After the background color is placed, we take it step-by-step in adding layers of color until we complete the painting with the finishing touches in the foreground.More than anything, it’s important to have fun and enjoy the process of learning together. What Masterpieces!!
