RELOVED END TABLE
I have had this end table taking up space in my basement for a very L-O-N-G time (actually, I hauled it from one basement to another when I got married). Why? Because I love junk!!!! 🙂 I just could not get rid of her in the move. She had great bones (solid) and I wanted the chance to bring out her beauty and potential.
So she finally had her day in the sun (literally!).
Numbers 6:24-25 popping in my head as a reminder of the ONE that shines on our faces! Soaking up this blessing–to be outside and working on a project!!!
♥ How I RELOVED this end table:
I did a little prep work by sanding her lightly to get any loose varnish/paint off ( not sure what it was, but it was flaking & peeling from age). Mainly, I wanted to make sure the top surface was smooth.
Then, to keep some of the original structure, I taped/covered up the underneath parts of the table.
Added two coats of CeCe Caldwell’s Nantucket Spray (I let each coat dry before applying the next…although, it dries quickly, I left about 30 minutes between coats).
After giving her a soft sanding (with fine grit paper), I added two coats of Clear Wax (mixed with a touch of CeCe Caldwell’s Virginia Chestnut Brown…this brown has been replaced with Texas Tea).
She’s a beauty…I knew she still had life left in her!!! Plus, she won’t be going back to the basement either...she’s on the move and is heading to her new home in Florida! 🙂
