Forever Love
The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.” Jeremiah 31:3💕I read that June was the most popular month to get married. It has been several years now since I married…July being my month to tie the knot! 🙂 It was a beautiful celebration and I love the man I married to the core. Looking back, I can see God engraved his name on my heart when we first met during my freshman year in college. However, life has twists and turns and we set course in different directions. Until, through a mutual acquaintance, we were reunited and married 20 years after we first met…
…I’m grateful for God’s mercy that he does not give us all the details of His plan.💛Although, I don’t remember or feel hurt over any specific hardships, I’m aware that I did not always enjoy being single. I thought of him throughout our time apart. I know I wanted more than anything to be married and live ‘happily ever after.’
However, God was good to give us time to mature, learn and know who we are in Him. Marriage is wonderful, but I know I would not be able to enjoy married life, if I did not find myself in Christ alone (first, foremost and faithfully…). Is it perfect? No, but it is good, growing and grounded in the ONE who has all the answers and fills each of our deepest needs. Sometimes I forget this, but again, God is faithful to make my path straight.
“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT)Only God alone knows what I (we all) need and only He can fill (fulfill) our longings and desires. Only He is able to heal wounds, hurts and/or the pain we encounter in life, and in return, make us feel loved and complete. My job is to go to Him and do what is right and good in His eyes….no matter how I feel. He loves each of us more than anyone will ever be able to love us. His love never changes because he is incapable of lying. He is the same today and forever and can’t be anything other than love to us. His love never runs out nor does it give up on us. He will never leave nor forsake you. Even if another’s love fails, His love is forever.Whether you are married or single, we all can bask in the joy of God’s love….knowing it will last forever. “God does not make us wait for joy, because he does not make us wait for him,” Marshal Seagal, The Most Satisfying Years.
So glad the Lord does not make us wait for Him!!! #thatsreallove
