The Love You Can Always Count On!
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5
When I think about love enduring forever, this scripture comes to mind. I can lift up my head and rejoice that no matter what happens, I am loved by God. His great encouragement gives me a cheerful heart. He has given us so many promises in His Word (Bible) to help strengthen our faith. When we are weak, He is strong on our behalf. As we go to God’s Son, Jesus Christ, he gives us the power and hope we need to take another breath (“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28). In doing so, we place our spirits in a position to receive joy. He tells us to call upon Him in the day of trouble and He will give us rest (For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:5). Rest is not found within, but in God’s goodness, mercy, and love. It is found in Him and resting at His feet.
I find this Truth to be of great comfort as I have countless thoughts and dreams running through my head. It is overwhelming and pointless to try to figure things out on my own (even though I am guilty of trying to). The Good News is that I do not have to. God’s love endures forever. His mercy endures forever. He says to cast my cares upon Him because He cares for me and for you (Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I Peter 5:7).
So, if your head his spinning with what to do with your life or you are struggling with your place in this world, stop, take a deep breath, and sit for a moment with Jesus. Let his love wash over you like a summer rain and the aroma of fresh flowers. Drink from His well that never runs dry (Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” John 4:10). Receive the goodness and promises He has for you. His love endures forever. It will not run out!
Take a moment for yourself and ask the Lord to help you today. Fill up with his love, hope and joy! He is faithful and incapable of lying (in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, Titus 1:2). His Word is true and sure and everlasting. When he says, come unto me all you who are weary and I give you rest, He means it, and will fulfill His promise to you.
Make an appointment to meet with God on a regular basis. Take in the love He has for you to restore you and give you hope.
These verses have been a blessing to me over the years. May they quench your thirst and lift your spirit to soar above the clouds (the dishes, laundry, hurts, inadequacies, fears and whatever is weighing heavy on you today).
Sit at the feet of Jesus and let Him love on you!
