Art For Little Eyes – April Workshop (Wolf Kahn)
I fell in love with the works of Wolf Kahn several years ago while learning about him through doing a study on Abstract Expressionism and Hans Hofmann. Kahn was born in Germany in 1927 and immigrated to the USA in 1940; later studying art with the renowned Hans Hofmann. Kahn’s unique blend of Realism and formal discipline of Color Field painting sets his work apart from other artists. Plus, I love at nearly 90 years of age he is still painting and was honored in January 2017 with the International Medal of Arts.
His paintings are rich in color and full of expression. I selected Glowing Yellow for this month’s workshop. It’s a great piece for kids to learn about monochromatic colors and the fusion of other colors to create balance in a painting. The colors fit together to make a vibrant and fun work of art. I am looking forward to working with your children to provide a space to encourage them in the creative process as they paint their own Glowing Yellow masterpiece. I have included all the details below. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at happy@michellemarttila.com.

I am taking/bringing my granddaughter to the workshop tomorrow. What is the address/location? I have not been to your Wyndhurst studio so I do not know where to come.
Thanks,
