“Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home A charm from the skies seems to hallow us there Which seek thro’ the world, is ne’er met elsewhere Home! Home! Sweet, sweet home! There’s no place like home There’s no place like home! An exile from […]
I love hearing from many of you regarding Part I of our summer fun in the Upper Peninsula (U.P.). I am so glad you shared your stories and enjoyed the natural beauty of northern Michigan. One of the things I love most about the UP (Yoo-pee), is all the “mom and pop” places along the way. […]
“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” – John MuirWe have been off the grid ‘taking it easy’ in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (UP (pronounced Yoo-Pee)) again. Happy day everyone! Kicking off the summer with a Happy Heart™ book event and face painting at the historic Sara Henry Manor. I was a little nervous to try my hand at face painting, but it turned out to be a wonderful day.
I’m slowly getting back into a steady pace after a very busy April and May. There’s no place like home and no other place I would rather be. Although, home is where my heart is, I do enjoy events and visiting other places. It is always fun to meet people and learn from their life experience. For […]

Recently, I had the opportunity to be part of designing and painting a puppet theater/set for the Mountain Top Kids at Thomas Road Baptist Church. I always love seeing how paint transforms a room into a magical place. My friend Paula and I brainstormed ideas to fit the outdoor theme wanted for the room. The […]
MERCY As March makes it way to April, we are enjoying Spring and remembering all we have to be grateful for everyday. We will be enjoying time with some family as we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I hope you all are having a wonderful week!?! I am enjoying our spring weather here in Virginia. With the Vintage Lynchburg Spring Market coming up on April 30th, I am taking advantage of the warmer days and working outdoors on furniture and decor pieces. I’ll share a few projects with you later this week.
It’s time for a giveaway! I’ll be announcing the winner on Monday (March 7, 2016) to win a small cedar shake coffee sign. My brother-n-law is remolding an old cabin and replacing the cedar shakes with new shingles/shakes. As we were taking a few of them off, he said to throw them in a pile to […]
“God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.” Working on projects for the Vintage Lynchburg Spring Market 2016. Last year, I made this I Peter 5:7 three panel sign with the popular phrase, “Let It Go.”
