“Art For Little Eyes” – May Workshop (George Seurat)

It is always fun to paint with children and see the masterpieces they create!  I agree with Pablo Picasso in that “every child is an artist.”  Children are able to paint works by the Old Masters by breaking down the painting process in steps they are able manage and understand.  Most of the time, we start painting and I forget to capture the progression of our creating process.  I finally remembered to take more photos during our April Workshop and thought you all would enjoy this short video of painting “Glowing Yellow” by Wolf Kahn.

Art For Little Eyes – May Workshop For the “Art For Little Eyes” May Workshop on Saturday, May 20th, we will be learning about pointillism and the founder of this style, George Seurat.  This playful puppy from A Sunday on La Grande Jatte — 1884 caught my eye as I was searching through Seurat’s work for a piece to paint in the kids workshop.  Children will be able to have fun and get an understanding (of the technique) of pointillism while they layer small brushstrokes of complementary and contrasting  hues to create this section of Seurat’s most famous painting.

The workshop is for ages 5 -12 and we provide everything with your ticket- just show up on May 20th!$25 a ticket includes:
• 2 hours of instruction/painting event at our Wyndhurst Art Studio
• All necessary supplies, including paints, brushes, easels, aprons/shirts, canvas and clean-up.
