Christmas On The Porch 2015

Is it December? We have had beautiful weather in Virginia. I was able to work outside, clean off my porch, and add a few simple touches of Christmas!

I’m talking very simple here!!!  I added to the mix a green rusty bird feeder and rotors off my jeep.  My husband changed the brake pads and rotors on my jeep last week.  They sat out in the rain and now have a lovely coat of rust…made the perfect home for my little Nativity.Nativity O

The other rotor holds my poinsettia and sits beside this heavy metal star.  I love this symbol.  Brings to mind a favorite Christmas song of mine, “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” and reminds me that JESUS is the STAR of Christmas.  God used a star to lead wise men to him (Read: Matthew 2).The Star copy

I added a few wintery items (lanterns, bird nests, trees, and snowmen) to an old church pew.  Love, love, love the aqua adirondack chair my nephew made for me.  Oh, I can’t forget my galvanized bucket spray painted red (to keep firewood close by this winter!).Porch Bucket

Mr. HHM and I had fun making these rustic trees (ornaments) this year (made out of old barn wood/pallets with barn or horseshoe nails).Three Trees

Well, I better get inside and bring some Christmas cheer in there.  A simple Scandinavian (rustic) vibe is the plan .  I’ll be back soon to show you!

Blessings to you and your family as you prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ!
